Abstract

The protective layer for a dressing having a rubber adhesive is comprised of paper coated or impregnated with low molecular weight polysiloxane applied as a solution or emulsion and subsequently dried. The resin may be applied in solution in a chlorinated solvent, an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon or a ketone and may be emulsified before use. The protective paper layer may be applied to individual dressings or to a rolled strip or may be formed into envelopes each containing a separate dressing.
