Abstract

Sintered or fused dolomite is pressed to form fireproof stone and then burned under such reducing conditions that the oven atmosphere contains elemental carbon which may also be present in the exhaust gases and extracted therefrom for re-use. The calcium and magnesium carbonates are decomposed.ALSO:Sintered or fused dolomite is pressed to form fireproof stone and then burned under such reducing conditions that the oven atmosphere contains elemental carbon. The oven exhaust gases may also contain elemental carbon which may be extracted for reuse.
