Abstract

Dietary and medicinal honey-milk preparations are made by mixing honey warmed to not more than 40 DEG C with a larger proportion of warmed whole or skimmed milk powder, dehydrating the mixture at not more than 45 DEG C in air, allowing the dried product to cool slowly, and grinding it to a powder, or are made by dissolving honey in lukewarm milk, dehydrating the solution under reduced pressure at a temperature not exceeding 80 DEG C, and grinding the dried product to a powder. Glucose, lactose, or maltose may be incorporated. The powder may be compressed to convenient tablets. Preparations suitable for dissolving in water consist of 20 per cent of honey, 10 per cent of lactose, 70 per cent of whole milk powder and 25 per cent of honey, 15 per cent of maltose, 60 per cent of skimmed milk powder.
