Abstract

705,034. Road traffic signs. PROCTOR, O. A., and EPSEM, Ltd Oct. 21, 1952 [Oct. 25, 1951], No. 24944/51. Class 3(2) [Also in Group XXXI] A motor-cycle crash bar is provided at its ends with lamp fittings g having connections k for supply of current from a battery carried upon the motor-cycle. The crash bar comprises two tubular members a connected together by a screw-threaded stem b which passes through a lug c upon the down tube of the motor-cycle frame The lug c may be provided for the attachment of a side-car. Each member a is connected to the stem b by an internally screw-threaded union member d having a spigot part e brazed or soldered at f to the member a. Two tapered sleeves mare mounted on the stem b and engage in a doubly tapered aperture in the lug c. Each lamp fitting has two windows h, one window having a plain glass and the other a red glass so that white light is shown forwardly and red light to the rear of the motor-cycle.
