Abstract
408,954. Saddle - supports. DAVIES, R., 29, Acheson Road, West Derby, and DAVIES, J., 6, Eltham Street, Fairfield, both in Liverpool. Oct. 13, 1932, No. 28527. [Class 136 (iii).] A saddle-support of the type having an upper saddle - carrying part pivoted to the pillar so that it can be turned over to invert the saddle, which is thus protected from the weather, is constructed as follows. The saddlecarrying part B is pivoted at D to the rear end of a channel-shaped horizontal part a<1> of the pillar A, and comprises a forward part b<1> which carries the clamp C of the saddle E, and a rear part b<2>, which has flat sides to be gripped by the side checks of the channel-shaped part a<1>. The part b<2> may also be retained in the part a<1> by means of spring-pressed balls engaging corresponding recesses. The saddle when in the inverted position is slightly inclined in the longitudinal direction, so that any water is directed to a drainage hole. The saddle may be retained in the inverted position by means of a keyoperated lock.
