Abstract

704,002. Hot gas engines. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. Feb. 7, 1951 [Feb. 10, 1950], No. 3003/51. Class 7(1) In a heater comprising tubes 5 with limbs 5a, 5b connected respectively to a hot space 4 and a regenerator space 6, the tubes are bent so that beyond the cylinder head and extending on that side of the cylinder head remote from the cylinder and over a major portion of their length they are situated equidistantly or substantially equidistantly from the cylinder axis. Projections or fins 11 extending laterally or longitudinally may be formed on the lower ends 5c of the limbs 5b to increase heat transmission. The combustion gases flow outwardly from the centre of a combustion space 10 to an outlet, or are supplied at the periphery and carried away centrally.
