Abstract

703,838. Making turbine blades. ELECTROPOL, Ltd. April 18, 1951 [Jan. 19, 1950,] No. 1395/50. Addition to 622,118, [Group XXXVI]. Drawings to Specification. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). [Also in Group XXXVI] An electrolytic process for shaping or contouring an article of metal or an alloy (see Group XXXVI) may be used in shaping gas turbine blades or in contouring holes in the flame tubes of jet turbine engines. The article may be first forged, then subjected to the electrolytic treatment and finally mechanically machined, or it may be subjected to alternate electrolytic shaping and mechanical machining. Specifications 568,207 and 699,013, [Group XXXVI], are referred to.
