Class 136(3) In a bicycle in which the seat pillar 10 is slidably mounted on a spring 15 in a seat tube 11, the pillar is slotted longitudinally at 16 and a spring-loaded rock-lever 21 is provided which comprises a cam 24 projecting into the slot 16 and engaging the sides to expand the seat pillar into frictional engagement with the seat tube 11, a spring 26 being provided to retain the cam 24 in the pillar expanded position, and control means comprising a cable 27 being provided to rock the lever 21 to release the cam and allow the pillar to slide in the seat tube. A rod 13 is secured inside the seat pillar 10 and has a disc 14 secured to its lower end to engage the spring 15. The cable 27 is connected to a hand operated lever on the bicycle handle bars.
