Class 78 (1) Mechanism for stopping a conveyer when material is carried beyond the delivery point comprises a member 16 which extends across the conveyer 13 and is attached to a rotatable switch-actuating cam 15. The cam co-operates with a leaf spring 18, one end of which is anchored to a bracket 20 and the other end of which engages the plunger 21 of a snap-action switch 22. During normal operation the spring 18 presses against a flat face 19 of the cam, but when the member 16 is displaced by the material, the cam is turned and one of its corners 17 engages the spring and displaces it to actuate the switch.
