Class 100 (2) One of the casings in a hand stamp according to the parent Specification may be rigidly connected to the bridge and contains a member, having its lower portion between the printing elements and the bridge, which is slidable to project the type in the printing position outwardly to facilitate inking. The two casings 20, 21 shown have ears such as 26, Fig. 9, which engage pivot screws 22, 23 in the bridge 28 and also act as stops ensuring even printing without excess pressure on the type ; pins 29, 30, Fig. 5, lock the ears of the casing 21 to the bridge. Beneath the bridge 28 is an angled part 36 of a plate 31 movable by a spring-loaded button 33 from the Fig. 3 to the Fig. 9 position to press the type 48, but not the ears 26, against an inking pad such as 72 (see below).
