Abstract

701,360. Glazed wax paper. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP DE BATAAFSCHE PETROLEUM MAATSCHAPPIJ. July 2, 1952 [July 2, 1951], No. 16659/52. Class 96 Waxed paper or cardboard is given'high glaze by rapidly cooling it from a temperature equal to or above the melting point of the wax, by passing it through mercury at a temperature not above 30‹C., e.g. 0 to 20‹C. The wax may be micro- or macrocrystalline paraffin wax which may contain additives such as esters of polyvalent alcohols, e.g. glycerol, or resin acids, polyethylene, montan wax, bees wax, Japan wax, ozokerite, or natural resins. The paper &c. may be coated or impregnated with over 10, e.g. with 50 per cent. of the wax, or a wax emulsion may be added to the paper pulp.
