Abstract

660,327. Transparent paper. RENKERBELIPA GES. May 25, 1949, No. 14031/49. Class 96. Transparent paper, e.g. for drawing, for lampshades, or for coating with light-sensitive emulsions, is made by impregnating opaque paper with resin solutions which do not include drying oils, evaporating the solvent,- and heating the paper above the melting point of the resin, but preferably not above 100‹ C. The paper may be sized or unsized; the resin may be a polystyrene, cyclohexanone, alkyd, chlorodiphenyl, or a urea-formaldehyde resin as a 50 per cent solution in an organic solvent. The paper may be coated with a hard resin solution, which may contain baryta &c. to make the surface more receptive of pencil marks.
