[Also in Group VIII] Apparatus for use in effecting migratory transfer of a reversal image from a sheet containing a latent negative image to the coating of a coated sheet constituting the transfer material, comprises a driven coating roller rotatable in a trough, upper guiding members forming a track across the mouth of the trough, a lower guiding member forming a track beneath the trough and a pair of pressure rollers, at least one of which is driven, forming a nip adjacent to the lip of the trough; whereby the negative sheet may be passed image downwards over the upper guiding members and the coating roller for treatment with developing solution, and the transfer material passed coating upwards beneath the trough to meet the negative, and the two sheets pressed into contact and fed forward by the pressure rollers. As shown, roller 20 dips into solution in trough 17, the negative sheet is passed over fingers 21 and roller 20 to be wetted by the solution, the transfer sheet introduced at feed board 16 and supported by perforated plate 19 passes beneath the trough 17, and the two sheets meet, to be pressed together by pressure rollers 13, 14; 12 being a lower container with end walls 18 and one extended longitudinal edge 15 constituting a drip tray, and 22 a removable cover. The transfer sheet may be immersed in another liquid in the lower container 12 during its passage to the pressure rollers. Specifications 614,155 and 654,630 are referred to.
