Abstract

Class 51(i) A cyclone furnace has a cooling-tube bounded outlet for molten slag separate from a gas outlet from the furnace chamber, wherein a cooling tube bifurcates around the slag outlet. As shown in Fig. 3 a furnace wall 1 having cooling-tubes 3 is provided with a slag outlet bounded by bifurcated portions 8, 9, 10, 11 of adjacent cooling-tubes 6, 7, the tube surfaces bounding, the slag outlet being bare of refractory material.
