Classes 66 and 94(i) The filling end of a-collapsable tube, that is the opposite end to the nozzle, is permanently heatsealed by the heat melting and subsequent setting of a wax. It is preferred to melt the sealing substance and immerse the filling end of the empty collapsable tube a short way into it. On cooling the wax sets and the tube is then filled; closed and folded in the usual way. Heat is then applied; for example by placing the folded end of the tube between temperature controlled jaws, to cause the wax to melt and flow within the folds so forming a seal after it has cooled. Cooling may be accelerated by cool air jets or immersion of the seal in iced water.
