Class 120(i) In feed apparatus of the feed roller and pedal lever type for a textile fibre opening or like machine, the feed roller 16 is mounted upon a main chassis capable of regulated movement towards and away from the beater 10, the chain chassis supporting a sub-chassis 23 carrying the pivots 171 of the system of pedal levers 17 and being movable on the main chassis towards and away from the beater. As shown, the sub-chassis 23 also carries an upper supplementary roller 14 co-axial with pivots 171 and spring-loaded plungers 18 for pressing on pedals 17. A collecting roller 13, co-operating with the feed lattice 11, is carried in bearings on arms which are pivoted coaxially with roller 14 .and can be locked with the axis of roller 13 in a desired position on an arc A, B. A lower supplementary roller 15 is carried in bearings on arms pivoted coaxially with roller 16, the arms being spring-loaded to urge roller 15 towards roller 14 along an arc D, C. Both the main and the sub-chassis consist of side plates tied together across the frame; the main chassis is slidable relative to the machine frame, and the .sub-chassis relative to the main chassis, by means of slots and set-screws. Rack- and-pinion adjustment may be provided for the main chassis relative to the frame, and screw-thread adjustment for the subchassis relative to the main chassis and for roller 13 relative to the sub-chassis. Rollers 14, 15 may be omitted, lattice 11 delivering direct to feed roller 16 and pedals 17.
