Abstract
Anion-exchange resins are produced by mixing polyvinyl chloride, chlorinated polyvinyl chloride or polyvinylidene chloride with a liquid consisting substantially of pyridine or a homologue thereof such as a picoline or lutidine, heating the reaction mixture until a resinous mass is obtained, separating this mass from the reaction liquid, granulating it and washing with an alkaline liquid. The liquid mixed with the resin may be the pyridine fraction separated from coke oven gas.
