[Also in Groups XXIV and XXV] In a vacuum cleaner where the motor is located vertically, a ventilating fan 24 is mounted on the motor shaft against a locating shoulder on the shaft to which it is held by a slotted curved disc spring 34 inserted between the fan and a second retaining shoulder. The fan central portion 28 rests upon the flat end face 26 of a commutator locking V-ring 25 against which the fan is held by a slotted curved disc spring 34 inserted between the fan part 28 and a shoulder formed by a groove 12 in the shaft. The fan 24 has a central cupshaped portion 27 partially enclosing the upper bearing 15, thus preventing dust reaching this bearing.
