Abstract
696,330. Drawing wire. SYNCRO MACHINE CO. June 18, 1951 [Oct. 3, 1950], No. 14415/51. Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv). [Also in Group II] In a wire drawing process, the wire after drawing is annealed and quenched and finally dried by the passage through it of an electric current. Wire passes from a drawing-die 11 successively over a drum 12, tensioning pulleys 13, 14, again over the drum 12 to pulley 15 where it makes electric contact with a lead 36 and on to pulleys 17, 18, 19 and pulley 20 where it completes a heating circuit through leads 32 and 36 and passes to pulley 22, completing the annealing-circuit by lead 32. It is then guided at 24, 27, 28 through a quenching bath 26 and back to a separate and insulated section of the pulley 15 which with lead 34 completes this drying circuit with lead 33. A tensioning pulley 29 leads the wire to a spool 30.
