Abstract

Tungsten is recovered from residues obtained during metallurgical treatments by first converting the tungsten to sodium tungstate, either by boiling the residues with caustic soda solution or fusing with sodium carbonate, and then precipitating calcium tungstate from a solution of the sodium tungstate obtained by double decomposition with calcium chloride solution.
