Class 52(i) A carrying case for a free arm sewing machine comprises two portions 1, 2 joined by hinges to a member 3, the member 3 having a central hinge so that it may be folded up, permitting the edges of the parts 1 and 2 to be brought together to form a work table for the machine. The part 2 has an opening 8, covered when the case is closed, by a flap 11, the opening receiving the free arm of the machine, which may be held in a bracket 10. The bracket 10 serves to locate the machine, and the machine base is clamped by members 22 when the case is closed.
