695,005. Magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus. INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. Feb. 1, 1952, No. 2727/52. Class 40 (ii). A combined magnetic transducer head and coupling transformer has a single turn secondary in the form of a C-shaped copper plate 21 which lays between the two halves 19, 20 of a high impedance winding, and is joined at its outer ends 23, 24 by a copper foil or strip 15 which passes through a slot in an arcuate magnetic member 11 forming the core and pole-pieces of the transducer. The member 11 is provided with a groove 16 to guide a record wire 17.
