705,546. Magnetic sound recording and reproducing apparatus. ILLINOIS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, ARMOUR RESEARCH FOUNDATION OF. Jan. 9, 1951, No. 16540/52. Divided out of 705,507. Class 40 (2). A magnetic transducer head, which may be mounted in a support, see Fig. 3 (not shown), for use with multiple channel tapes, which support forms the subject-matter of Specification 705,507, comprises two L-shaped magnetic members 27, 28 with one pair of their legs between two U-shaped magnetic members 21, 22. An air or solder non-magnetic gap 29 is provided between the members 27, 28. Signal coils and high frequency bias coils are provided around the L- and U-shaped members, see Fig. 1 (not shown).
