694,936. Washing-machines. EMALJEVERKET AKTIESELSKAP. Jan. 28, 1952 [Aug. 14, 1951], No. 2245/52. Class 138 (ii). A continuously rotating agitator located close to the bottom, side or lid of a washing machine container, consists of a boss 12 attached to a driving shaft 11 and provided with a number of wings 13 each comprising a relatively thin blade extending substantially parallel to the adjacent surface of the container, while the rear edge of the blade with respect to the direction of rotation merges into a substantially radially extending thicker rib 14 projecting from the blade. The forward edge 15 of the wing 13 is curved as shown and has a small portion 16 extending into a correspondingly shaped recess 17 in the next wing. In the example illustrated in Figs. 1 and 1a (not shown), the recesses 17 are eliminated, the curved edge merging into the rib edge of the next wing a short distance outwardly from the boss 12. In Figs. 3 and 3a (not shown), the wings are sloped slightly so that a part of each blade lies under the next wing, and the edges of the blades are shaped so that the wings together form a circle concentric with the driving shaft.
