Abstract
694,927. Sifting apparatus. MIAG VERTRIEBSGES. Oct. 1, 1951 [Jan. 3, 1951], No. 22790/51. Class 117 ' A plansifter comprises a box divided laterally into a central sieve-frame compartment and 'side compartments subdivided into channels for throughs, tailings and aspiration, easily detachable doors or the like. being provided in two opposing side walls of the 'box.' The'box 1, Figs. 1, 2, has dividing walls 2 provided with supports 3 for the sieve frames 4. The frames .are retained by a lever 6, Fig. 4, pivoted at 5 and angularly displaceable by a draw rod 9 against springs 7, 13. The rod 9 is operated by the handle 10, pivoted at 11, and to which is pivoted the crosspiece 12 at the end of the rod. The end of lever 6, which is shown in the slacked off position, carries a roller 14 which contacts the sieve frame 4 when tightened. The side. compartments are divided laterally into a central aspiration channel 16 removable outer tailings channels 17 and throughs channels 18 therebetween. The tailings channels 17 may be divided into sections so that several different products may be taken from one sifter box. The aspiration channels 16 communicate with the adjoining channels 18 through holes 21 preferably formed in corners between inclined sheets 22 and the vertical walls of the box 1. Channels 23 afford communication between the aspiration and tailings channels. The stock passes through slits 24 in the walls 2 into the throughs channels or from these on to the sieves. The tailings pass into the tailings channels through further slits in the walls 2, Figs. 3 (not shown). The detachable box covers 26 and the outer surfaces of the tailings channels, which are all of convex form, contain transparent windows 28, 29, arranged at the same level on both sides. Alternatively, the box may consist wholly of transparent material. The sifter may be made of sheet metal and is placed in a vertical frame 30, the upper and lower members 30<SP>1</SP> having bearings 33 for the shaft 31 of a counterweight 32.
