Class 120(iii) A laminated bobbin or pirn the barrel portion of which is tapered for the whole or a portion of its length is formed fromsynthetic resin-impregnated paper strips each being of the necessary length and shape.to produce the desired thickness and contour of the portion of the bobbin formed thereby. The strips are wound, in overlapping relation if necessary, on a mandrel: parts of the bobbin of smallest internal diameter may be preformed and inserted after winding the other parts or said other parts are wound thereon. The assembly is consolidated by baking to cure the resin.
