Abstract

694,082. Pasting-machines. PLASCO, Ltd. Nov. 19, 1951 [April 6, 1951], No. 27047/51. Class 83 (i). A gooseneck for a die-casting machine is made up from a number of easily assembled parts, one element of the assemblage comprising an apertured cylindrical part 29 with a spout 40. extending outwardly and upwardly from one side thereof and braced by a web 41 between the spout and a semi-cylindrical member 17 which extends upwardly from the part 29. Seated within the part 29 by a flange 32 is a bushing 31 in which the gooseneck plunder (not shown), operates, the lower end of the bushing being closed by a force fit cap 34. Resting on top of the part 29 and clamped to the extension 17 by U-shaped bolts 12, 13 passing through lugs 16 on the extension, is a sleeve 10 having a comparatively large port 19. Above the extension 17 the sleeve has a collar 21 to which is adjustably clamped a plate 24 carrying a pin 23 which projects inwardly through an arcuate slot 22 in the collar to form a key for the gooseneck plunger. Above the collar 21, the sleeve 10 is formed with rack teeth 27 and an elongated keyway 28. The end of the spout 40 is formed with lugs 42 for securing an end nozzle 44.
