693,689. Grinding. RIP-BITS, Ltd. March 12, 1951 [March 10, 1950], No. 6119/50. Drawings to Specification. Class 60. In a work-holder, more particularly for holding work for subjection to the action of a grinding wheel, of the kind comprising a carrier bed adapted to be secured to a base, a compound slide mounted on the carrier bed with its upper and lower slides movable at right angles to each other in adjacent planes, a housing mounted on the upper slide and swivelably adjustable thereon and adapted to be locked thereto, work holding means accommodated in the housing and mounted for rotation therein, means for rotating said work holding means and reciprocating means associated between the upper and lower slides for effecting slidable movement of the upper slide together with the housing and work holding means relative to the lower slide, the swivelable housing is mounted on the upper slide about a vertical pivot and a plurality of opposing pin-receiving holes are provided in the engaging faces of said housing and slide of which a pair of opposing holes come into register at various adjusted positions of the housing for reception of a join for locking said housing to the upper slide. The embodiment described is identical with that described in Specification 693,690, which is referred to.
