Abstract
693,319. Night safes. PRITCHARD, F. March 4, 1952 [March 30, 1951], No. 7475/51. Class 18. [Also in Group XXV] A night-safe having an exterior trap-controlled opening to receive deposits is sunk below floor level and is provided with a platform or cage adapted to be raised and lowered, by means external to the safe, between bottom level and a level adjacent an internal door opening above floor level. The usual form of trap device 16 is provided in the outer wall 11 of the building, and communicates with the safe,-which is built up of steel plates 21, 24, 25, 26, and extends below the level of the interior floor 13. A door 29 is provided at floor level. A cage 30, guided within the safe by rollers 33, is suspended by a rope 40 secured to a drum 43 operable by a removable handle 45 from outside the safe. A rubber or like pad 38 is provided at the bottom of the cage.
