Abstract

693,031. Dust suppression in mines. MAVOR & COULSON, Ltd., and MAVOR, J. B. Jan. 24, 1950 [Sept. 17, 1948], No. 24417/48. Class 85 [Also in Group XXX] The upper run of an endless conveyer having its framework built-up of sections arranged end-to-end is sprayed with water by means of nozzles fitted in a water conduit extending lengthwise of the conveyer. The conduit is built up of sections corresponding to the framework sections, each conduit section being supported on the outer face of its framework section. The Figures show the application to a push-plate conveyer having a framework built-up of sections secured together by stools 15 and each comprising troughs A, B for the conveying and return runs respectively. The water conduit comprises lengths of tubing 20 fitted with nozzles 19 which spray the water through apertures 21 in the spillagepreventing wall 12. The tubing 20 is supported by passing through - holes, in strengthening webs 23 on the framework sections.
