Class 20(iv) Roads and floors are surfaced by applying to the foundation an aqueous binding agent such as a colloidal emulsion of bitumen or asphalt, spreading shredded waste vulcanized india-rubber in aqueous suspension as a layer which is levelled under pressure, and applying another coating of binder on which a dressing of wet sand gravel or shredded rubber is rolled. Preferably several layers of alternate binding agents and shredded rubber are applied.
