Abstract

A floor covering material comprises a butadiene-styrene copolymer in which the styrene predominates, a filler, and an agent for protection against ageing. Specified fillers are cork meal, wood meal, chalk and colouring material such as ochre, while ortho-cresylcamphane and phenyl-beta-naphthylamine are specified ageing protectors. The copolymer may be mixed with the filler either in the form of an aqueous dispersion or as a solid. Softening agents such as esters of phthalic acid, e.g. dibutyl and dioctyl phthalates and additional materials such as linseed oil varnish, linoxyn, and condensation products of polycarboxylic acids and polyhydric alcohols, e.g. adipic acid-trimethylol propane, may also be present.
