Class 26 In a syphon-discharge flushing cistern, the operating lever 13 extends through a notch 11 in the upper edge of the cistern wall 12 or of a lever - supporting member mounted on said wall, and is supported in the notch by transverse projections 21 on the lever lying in a groove 14 intersecting the notch. Notches may be provided at both ends of the cistern so that the lever may be fitted at either end, and the notch may have bevelled edges 15. The lever-supporting member may be in the form of a block fitting into a larger notch in the cistern wall.
