Abstract
448,525. Valve-discharge water-wastepreventers. ROSS, T., ROSS. W., and ROSS, A. M., (trading as ROSS & SONS, W.), 27, Thistle Street, Glasgow. Jan. 15, 1935, No. 1328. [Class 26] In a valve-discharge water-waste-preventer comprising a valve, and a suction lifting-member 3, Fig. 1, suspended by a link 4 from a lever 5 rockable to lower the suction-member and so biassed that on release it will lift the member and valve, the lever is operable through a second lever 11, of which one end directly engages the first lever. The lever 5 is held by a bracket 8 and the lever 11 is pivoted at 12 to the lever 5 and has a portion 13 fitted with a chain extending beyond the cistern. In another form, Fig. 2, the second lever is in the form of a crank 19 operated by a finger-piece 17 and engaging the lever 5 at 20. For the release of the valve, an air-admission tube leads from the upper face of the valve to the lower part thereof.
