Abstract
691,930. Spooling thread. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. June 20, 1951 [July 1, 1950], No. 16478/50. Class 120(ii) A spool winding machine in which the spool may be driven by a roller 2 engaging the spool between its flanges comprises a traverse bar 11, a thread guide 12 frictionally and slidably mounted thereon and means for reciprocating the bar, said means comprising a traverse member' 8 reciprocated, e.g. by a helical cam sleeve 9, an angularly adjustable track 14 rigidly mounted on the frame of the machine and a lever 10 rotatably mounted at 21 between its ends on the member 8 and being pivotally attached at 23 to the bar 11 whilst its other end, e.g. having a freely rotatable roller 13, is slidable in the track 14, whereby the length of stroke of the bar 11 relative to the member 8 may be adjusted by the angular setting of the track 14 with reference to the bar 11. The track 14 may be locked in the adjusted position by a clamping screw 30. The slidable connection of the thread guide 12 with the traverse bar 11 allows the guide, upon contact with the spool flange, to come to rest, the bar still moving until the end of its traverse.
