Abstract

691,175. Elastic-fluid turbines. PAUKER, F. Sept. 27, 1949 [Aug. 19, 1948], No. 24798/49. Class 110(iii) In a plant comprising one or more gas turbines, and steam turbines or engines, the latter being supplied through one or more heat-exchangers, the exchange of heat between the two fluids is effected at as low a temperature as possible for the steam, that is the temperature at which evaporation commences. As shown in Fig. 3 an air compressor 1 supplies a gas turbine 2 and a quantity of exhaust gas G1 is supplied at a temperature t1 to a heatexchanger 5. High-pressure steam at a pressure P1 and temperature t1 is supplied in series to turbines 3, 4, the exhaust steam passing through a condenser 9. Some of the exhaust gas G3 is tapped from the exchanger 5 at a temperature t2 to heat an exchanger 6 which is supplied with condensate by a feed pump 7. A second feed pump 8 is provided. Curves in the specification show the temperatures of the working media plotted against quantities flowing through the plant, and the parts of the curves chosen to effect heat exchange between the media, for maximum efficiency, are described in the Specification.
