Abstract

691,172. Stone saws. SONAPAR SOC. DE PARTICIPATION SOC. ANON. May 13, 1948 [May 21, 1947], No. 13122/48. Class 124. A band saw for sawing stone is formed of successive blades interconnected by a flexible band in such manner that each 'blade is in contact with the blade or either side and each blade has a cutting element on its outer edge. As shown, a series of blades 9 having their longitudinal sides abutting against those of the blades on either side and obliquely shaped ends having teeth 3 of hard material fixed thereto are held in position by flexible steel straps 6, 7, 8 which pass through lugs or bridge portions 14, 15, 16 formed by pressing out a portion of the blade. Portions on either side of the lugs may be formed into hooks 19 pressed out in the opposite direction to the lugs. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, includes also the use of an endless steel band cut at one side to form teeth and having slots each ending in a circular hole cut from the cutting edge part of the way across the blade to give more flexibility. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
