Abstract

The hedge-clipper has two toothed blades reciprocating against each other. As the teeth (2) cross, they cut through the twigs between, while against larger branches they act as saw teeth, working in the saw cut without sticking, since no part of them protrudes beyond the cutting edge. The blades have four holes retaining the heads of belts which hold them together but allow sliding. The ends of the belts do not extend past the width of the teeth, to allow deep cutting.
