Abstract
690,864. Attaching cigarette holders to fingers. GODDEN, M. J. Sept. 19, 1950 [Sept. 19, 1949], No. 24058/49. Class 43. [Also in Group VI] A cigarette or cigar holder comprises resilient wire jaws 7 forming or being carried by a stand 8 which is shaped to provide a loop 9 by which the holder may be attached to the finger of a user. As shown, the stand comprises an S-shaped member 8 preferably of plastic material, the loop 9 being adapted to grip a finger. The end of the member 8 may be provided with a flat base 4 or may be forked and curled back, the edge of the member 4 or the ends of the fork forming a hook by which the holder may be hung from a breast pocket. In a modification the wires of the holder 7 may be bent to provide a base by which the holder may be stood upon a table or supported on a surface such as the side of a bath. The wire may be flat and may be coated with synthetic resin. The cigarette clamp may be formed by a loop or helix in the wire. The Provisional Specification also states that the wire may be hinged to allow the holder to fold up.
