Abstract

690,707. Lifting jacks. ABBINNETT, W. H. March 15, 1951. [March 15, 1950] No. 6512/50. Class 78 (iii). A jack, more particularly for use on a two wheel trailer, comprises a U frame 2 carrying a roller 6 hinged to the trailer at 5 and pivoted about said hinge by a screw 7. The lower end of this screw is rotatably mounted in a bearing block 8 which is attached to the U frame by trunnions 20, whilst the upper part of the screw engages a nut 13 pivoted to the trailer frame by trunnions 21. In a modification (not shown) a plurality of such jacks are secured to a vehicle and are operated individually or simultaneously, either manually or by a power take off from the tractor engine.
