690,434. Fire-proof paper-board &c. RANNILA, T. W. June 7, 1950. [April 26, 1950] No. 14231/50. Class 96. Building board, cardboard, or paper is made fireproof by spraying &c. the wet pulp'layer on the wire-cloth of a paper-making machine with a solution or suspension of a non-volatile, non- combustible inorganic chloride e.g. magnesium chloride, an inert mineral powder, e.g. magnesite and a poorly soluble &c. organic adhesive e.g. pine glue. Other additives may be ammonium chloride or phosphate and sodium carbonate. Solution penetrating the pulp layer may be re-used.
