690,025. Seats. ERIKHORN, K. H., and BREMSHEY, F., [trading as BREMSHEY & CO.] Jan. 21. 1952 [Jan. 22, 1951; June 9, 1951No. 1675/52. Class 52(ii) In a foot pillar for a seat which is adjustable both angularly and vertically a seatcarrying tube, which is guided in the foot pillar casing, is provided with teeth for engagement with a height-adjusting lever and also provided with one or more vertical grooves for an angularly adjusting lever. As shown the seat-carrying guide tube 7 has its lower part pinned to a guide collar 9 which is slidably and rotatably mounted in the bore of the stationary pillar 'casing. This collar 9 has one or more vertical grooves 10 with which the nose 25 of a hand lever 24 can engage so as to lock it after angular adjustment but permit vertical movement. Rotatably mounted in the upper part of the guide tube 7 is a bush 11 but is prevented from rotation relatively to the casing. by a pin and slot arrangement 14, 15. The bush 11 is provided with notches forming teeth 18 with a selected one of which the height-adjusting lever 20 engages. The seat is adjusted by hand. In a modification the guide tube is guided directly in the bore of the casing and is provided with annular teeth for engagement by the height-adjusting lever.
