689,548. Handwheels. ANSELMI, A. C. Aug. 30, 1951, No. 20533/51. Class 80 (iv). The rim 5 of a handwheel particularly for. steering a vehicle has an independent cover 1 of elastic material of substantially U-section sprung onto it which is provided on its outer surface with ribs parallel to .the axis of the wheel. The elastic material is preferably a plasticised synthetic resin formed by extrusion, the ends being heat-welded. The cover may be toughened before or after fitting onto the rim by treating with a solvent for the plasticiser.
