689,443. Extracting castings. BOENNHOFF, H. Aug. 20, 1951, No. 19544/51. Class 83 (i). A device for extracting ingots comprises grab mechanism and thrust members which, when the grab is lifted, exert a downward thrust directly dependent upon the lift. Links 3, 4 pivoted to an eye 1 by which the device is lifted, carry crossed links 7, 8 and these in turn angular links which, in known manner, cause the grab jaws 13, 14 to grip the projection 16 when the device is lifted. The links 7, 8 are extended to carry thrust members 19, 20, guided by lugs 22, 24, which press down on the top of the mould 21 at the same time. A device, not shown, is used to hold the jaws 13, 14 open when required.
