Class 100(i) [Also in Group XXX] Feed tables.-In a feed table, particularly for a paper-folding machine, comprising a number of rotatable parallel and coplanar feed rollers, preferably with their axes inclined with respect to the path of travel of the paper sheets or the like so that the sheets are urged against a side register plate, each end of at least one feed roller 13 is carried in a separate supporting block 41 which is itself secured to a horizontal web portion 11 .of one of the side members of a stationary supporting frame. As shown, each roller 13 comprises a length of steel tubing closed at each end by a metal plug 34 provided with a ball or roller bearing 36 in which is fitted the end 38 of a spigot pin 39. Each pin 39 is secured by a screw 45 within a bore in a pillar block 41, a downward extension 42 of the block passing through a hole in the web portion 11 of a prefabricated frame and being screwthreaded to receive a nut 44. The frame comprises two parallel side limbs joined together by transverse members each of which is of angle section steel bar. The feed rollers are driven continuously by means of an endless band arranged below the rollers, the upper run of the band being pressed by guide rollers against the feed rollers. Sheet guides.-The sheets are urged by the feed rollers 13 against a side lay 14 comprising an elongated sheet metal member having an upwardlyflared web 15, and a dependent web 17 notched to interfit between the rollers. The side lay is detachably supported, through clamps 20, by a paperguide 21 which is detachably secured to the frame of the table. Rotatable balls 19, disposed in apertures in the side lay, are arranged to co-operate with each roller.
