Abstract

688,630. Firearms. SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIE-GES. Dec. 23. 1949 [Dec. 23, 1948], No. 33024/49. Class 119. The firing mechanism is provided with means whereby shortly before the release of the sear 5 from the hammer 10 an increased resistance to the pull of the trigger is encountered, such increase being provided by interposing a force which checks the disengaging movement of the sear. In the firearm shown a pull on the trigger causes the trigger rod 9 to rotate the sear about its pivot 2 against the action of a spring 6. When the surfaces 11, 12 of the sear and hammer disengage the hammer swings about its pivot 3 under the action of a spring 16 to strike the firing pin 20. Just before this disengagement the sear meets an abutment 18 of a lever 17a pivoted at 4, the lever then serving to compress the spring 16 from above. The spring 16 thus provides the required check action to the trigger.
