688,142. Electric filters. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. June 6, 1951 [June 8, 1950], No. 14262/50. Class 40 (viii). An electric filter for separating signals of one frequency from those of another comprises a bridged T network which transmits the first frequency and whose series arms 6, 7, and 8 are tuned to reject the second frequency, the rejected signal being picked off by a coil 13 coupled to the inductance 6, and the damping introduced by this coupling is compensated by adjustment of the shunt arm resistance 9 of the T network. The arrangement as shown is utilized for separating the sound and vision signals in a television receiver.
