Abstract

687,761. Ferrules. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. April 24, 1951 [June 9, 1950], No. 9579/51. Class 134. A plastic cap or glider on the end of a tubular furniture leg 12 comprises a base 16, and two upstanding annular walls 24, 28 which tightly embrace the end of the leg. The inner wall 24 is longer than the outer wall 28, and is provided with longitudinal ribs which are partially sheared off when the closure member is forced onto the.leg. Suitable materials for the closure member are resins formed of ethyl cellulose, cellulose acetate, cellulose acetate butyrate, polyamide resins, vinyl resins, and methyl methacrylate.
