Abstract

Polytetrafluorethylene is coated with copper by evaporation in a vacuum. A further metallic coating may then be applied by evaporation or electrolytically e.g. of silver or nickel respectively, or the copper-coated material may be further coated with a thermoplastic or thermosetting resin.ALSO:Polytetrafluoroethylene is coated with copper by evaporation in a vacuum. A further metallic coating may be applied by evaporation or electrolytically e.g. of silver or nickel respectively. Two strips, copper-coated and, if desired, silver-coated, except at their edges and ends, may be rolled to form a cylindrical condenser. Alternatively, copper-coated foil may be coated with a phenolic resin and two foils, so treated, secured together by curing the resin.
