Abstract
685,936. Atmospheric gas burners. BRAY & CO., Ltd., G., and BRAY, C. April 12, 1951 [April 13, 1950], No. 9170/50. Class 75(i) An atmospheric burner adapted to burn steadily without producing a hissing noise has an outlet slot a<SP>2</SP> extending across the upper edge of the burner head a which encloses a domelike metal gauze b, and a nipple d having a rectangular outlet orifice and formed partly of ceramic material and partly of metal is mounted at the base of a mixing tube c and is selfaligning with the axis of the latter, as by a frusto-conical portion of the nipple d engaging in correspondingly shaped recess at the end of the tube c. An extension a<SP>1</SP> of the burner head a is clamped to the mixing tube c by means of a split ring e having an inwardly directed projection which engages a serrated band on the tube c.
